Mistral was such a neat member of the Winds of Destruction. I like her almost as much as I like Monsoon.
That part where she was equipping her extra arms was sort of weird because it looked like she was in terrible pain when doing it. And exactly why would sticking extra mechanical arms onto yourself hurt? I don't understand it.
Yea, I haven't really done any hard surface sculpting in zbrush so this was a cool little project to start learning how. I would love to do a tut soon, I made so many mistakes in making Mistral I dont want to show off how much I suck juuust yet. The likeness to the in game Mistral I feel didn't really keep true, I did my own version of her. The likeness comes with looking at ref as well as on the spot stylization of facial features. Pretty much ever piece I do is pretty challenging. I like to stay far from being safe art wise and always learn something new or challenge myself with getting better with things I feel I'm not at all good at, in this case is sculpting hard surface. I hope this helped!
Such a original futurist-suit; like how there are unique integrations of mechanical sections (As with her neckpiece & shoulder paddings) and soft yet comfy thick fabric seen in the middle main silver section of her top. While the lightplay is exceptionally subdued (Given that most of your modelling has luminous, glazed healthy vibrance as in [link] , [link]) the varying degrees of texture, reflected highlights and that touch of bar-code on her Left section of the suit make this one of your most creative. Simply Excellent work!
